Vice President
Texas
For more than a decade, Alexis DeLee has worked at the center of Texas media and governmental affairs issues, managing communications for principal political leaders or clients in a variety of areas, including health care, education, regulatory, environment and state and local government policy. DeLee specializes in government affairs and crisis communications.
As Communications Director for former Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick, Alexis directed communications strategies around several of the state’s highest profile issues and developed strong relationships with the Austin press corps, legislative staff and members of the Texas Legislature. As Craddick’s spokesperson, she gained valuable crisis communications experience around lightning rod media issues, such as the 2007 and 2009 Texas Speaker races, and the highly-publicized House disputes of the 2007 session.
Prior to her work in the Speaker’s Office, Alexis served as Communications Director for the Republican Party of Texas, directing all media relations activities for the organization. She worked previously for two Austin public relations firms, where she spearheaded a number of grassroots campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and local businesses alike.
A native of San Antonio, Alexis began her career in media when she interned at the San Antonio Express-News while a student at Trinity University. She received her Masters in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder and served as a freelance writer for the business section of the Boulder Daily Camera.
Alexis is an active member of St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. She teaches Language Arts and History and serves on the board of Regina Mater, a home school initiative of Catholic families.
